Wellers by Cohiba is back with its third iteration for 2023 with a new blend. Introduced in 2021 by General Cigar Co. in collaboration with Weller Bourbon,  the cigar featured high-priming, Honduran San Agustín ligero wrapper, Connecticut Habano medio tiempo binder and Nicaraguan filler from Estelí and Ometepe. Last year, the approach changed when the cigar boosted a Connecticut Broadleaf barrel-aged binder. For 2023, the Weller consists of a new blend  highlighted by a Connecticut-grown broadleaf binder leaf that was aged in authentic Weller Bourbon barrels transported from the famed Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Ken., to General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago, Dominican Republic, where the cigars were rolled. The cigar also features a Nicaraguan wrapper from Jalapa and filler from Nicaragua and Brazil. The limited Release cigar is currently shipping to fine cigar stores and is offered in only a 6 x 50 vitola, 10 count boxes.
